Being a traveler in Cyprus, it would be fun to go wine tasting in this place as it has been in the wine industry for so long. It may not be knows for its wine, but you’ll be surprised that in the variety itself you’ll find good tasting wine at its best.

The new club of wine makers include small to medium wine producers and this includes, lawyers, pilots, police inspector and the probably one of the least expected wine makers. This is to enhance and broaden the availability of wine in Cyprus.

Cyprus had been providing distilled and vinified products to countries like Sweden and Japan. After sometime, Cyprus adapted the industry of wine making.

• Mavro – Makes up most of the red wines
• Maratheftiko and Ofthalmo- With higher acidity
• Xynisteri – The main wine grape that majority of white wines are made from it

It is unfortunate that Cyprus had been criticized by international wine writers time after time. As with other countries that also have wines that are not satisfactory, Cyprus also has a share of very good wines.

The wine industry in Cyprus had been around for over 4 thousand years and still going strong. Good wine in Cyprus is not adapted through tradition but it depends on the skill of wine makers and their equipments.

After how many centuries, writers, explorers, priests, soldiers and rulers had praised Cyprus’ sweet wine, they would go through the odds of buying them, shipping them.
